In 2022, we approached a local museum that is housed in the old county jail and pitched doing a haunted house. We were greeted by an Executive Director who was eager to experiment with new ways to get people into the museum, particularly local youth.

We worked with ten high school students from four local high schools to pull this project off and experiment with our “launch a pop-up business” curriculum. They made the decorations, decided on the theme, set the pricing, ran concessions, and came up with the marketing. After running the haunted jail for 3 nights, the students made over $22,000 in revenue. The success of this project led to the Secret Workshop.
